No. Not all of our sensible politicians are highly educated ones.
eg: Lalu Prasad Yadav, Ram Vilas Paswan,

Bureaucrats have been put in place to act as a resource base to feed our politicians with the know-hows on various technical, scientific, or policy related matters. Though their feed backs are hardly taken forward.

Even if the politician is an educated one, he has to please his constituency. Things work differently in politics. If the politicians don't have an idea about the long term implications of their decisions then ultimately the country would suffer.

So, only thing that can be done is vote only sensible people to represent us without looking at their educational backgrounds.

It is a lofty idea but highly utopian because it is never to be now or ever.Even a compulsory
minimum high school education would not be possible to be imposed on these guys. But the
situation has definitely improved over the years
as more and more of our politicians are securing degrees although it may be debatable as to how they got the degrees, whether by honest means or by chicanery.

No, I do not agree .Educational qualification is not required to enter politics . In a party system of democracy the party is supposed to give adequate training.
But to hold a responsible post in government we may insist on educational qualification and character .(particularly criminals ,whether convicted or not should not hold posts in govt.)
