Great point. I actually saw an add in our local newspaper for "family trees" WTF, we can't even call them Christmas trees? I'm an athiest, but still recognize and respect the reasons people celebrate Christmas. I think people should get over themselves. If you dont celebrate Christmas, then why punish others for doing it. The next time I see minorahs in the store I should protest to the store so they can re-name them candlesticks.

Balls have nothing to do with it.Their are certain social norms in every society which have the acceptance of the majority and these keep changing with times ,again with the acceptance of the majority.Sure enough all such norms aren't correct or right but we all are supposed to adhere to them,This is the historical social model followed by people world over.Being tactful and diplomatic is a way to avoid confrontation and bad blood and fits well in to social norms everywhere. By the way, what greater purpose is achieved when we call a spade a spade, even at the cost of social unrest?Nothing much except some sort of short sighted satisfaction.Ask Pete's again and I am sure he shall approve of being polite and tact full.

Express yourself in any way you desire. No one's stopping you except yourself, that and your need for social acceptance. But, you seem annoyed that OTHERS are following PC "rules", as evidenced by your remark, "Why do people have to be so frickin PC?". You believe that you are correct in your position, yet you express frustration in your question about why everyone else does not believe as "correctly" in this matter as you do. For example, some people believe that it is socially "correct" to not insult others and they then expect everyone else to conform to that subjective belief. And, some people see that it is "correct" to say whatever they want to say and then expect everyone else to conform to THAT subjective belief, to be PC about NOT being PC. See what I mean? It is unrealistic and can be disasterous when people expect everyone in a society to behave the "correct" way because there is no one "correct" way. That imposition of a certain vision unto others is part of the tyranny called facism.

Because the stupid liberals want to drive us apart by CONSTANTLY reminding us of our differences. The fact that we (white people) live in constant fear of calling a black person a black person for fear of "offending" anyone, is just a constant reminder of our differences.
I think people need to grow up and realize that words are just WORDS! They don't hurt people!
