Well said, John Paul!
But to answer the question, if you are looking for quality replacement parts it is hard to beat the OEM. Second tier parts can be found at places like NAPA, Carquest, etc. Look for places that sell to professional mechanics - you'll see the delivery trucks running around town. Pep Boys, Autozone, A&A, etc are cheaper, but as you've found out the parts aren't quite up to snuff.

Why do people want to save money when it comes to tires or safety? I have been a auto technician for 35 years and it amazines me how some one thinks doing the brake job twice is less expensive than going to the dealership one time. Budget brake shops try to sell you extras like calipers and wheel bearings that may or may not be needed. Get to know your Pontiac Mechanic and in the long run you will save money

I think John Paul's nuts. I'd never turn let a bunch of low-life Saboteurs that went to kiddy college for a year work on my brakes. You can forget it.

Call up different independent parts stores, ask them if they carry ACDelco, Raybestos, or Wagner Thermo-Quiet brakes.

You bought cheap pads and that is what happens, the compounds are different on higher quality pads, try buying the next grade up
