Based on his physical skills, not the system he runs at Hawaii. The "system QB" label is bogus, every QB in the NCAA or NFL is a "system QB" when it comes down to it. Every offense at the college or professional level is groomed to fit the QB taking the snaps.

Yes, He's 6'3'', he has a quick release, he has a strong and accurate arm, he can run when he has to, and he doesn't turn the ball over. The knock on Brennan is that he's playing in the WAC, if he were doing this in a big conference he'd be the first player taken in next year's draft. I don't know if he'll ever be a franchise QB but he could hold a clip board and be a fine back up and spot starter in the NFL.

Colt Brennan has skills reminiscent of a young Kurt Warner, though with more speed (and of course, Warner didn't get his fumbling problems until later in his career). He'd be great in the Arena League or in an NFL offense where a quick release is important.

His accuracy is good, though his arm strength is not great (though it is good enough to make it).

Brennan will fall in the draft because alot of teams will underrate him because of the system Hawaii has. Were it not for his being accused of sexual harrassment in the middle of Colorado's sex scandal a few years back, Brennan would be quarterbacking the Buffalos right now and would likely be drafted much higher (of course, the NFL is overly obsessed with "character" ever since Goodell decided to suspend players for absurd things and so an accusation of sexual harrassment years ago will also drop his draft stock).

I see Colt Brennan going on the 2nd day, but turning into a gem, if he's drafted by the right team. If he ends up on the wrong NFL team, he'll be in the Arena League breaking records and winning ArenaBowl trophies.

Honestly, I don't think he will. He's a lot skinner than I am and I doubt he can bulk up much. You see, in the NFL, he's not going to get as much time to throw the ball as he gets right now because his offensive line isn't going to outclass defenses that often anymore, and I don't think he can take many hits. Plus, I heard he's more like 6'2" than 6'3," and I don't see a 6'2" 195 pound QB being a great pocket passer in the NFL. Also, his accuracy is amazing, but playing the QB position ultimately comes down to decision making. He hasn't been under pressure much this year, and when he was in pressure, he normally made a bad throw (remember that 5 interception game against some crappy team?).

Colt Brennan has the potential and physical attributes to be a successful quarterback in the NFL, but you can't overlook the fact that he is a system quarterback at Hawaii, and NFL teams simply don't run those kind of offenses. I think that he will have to quickly adapt to the different game played at that level, or he will run out of opportunities. Too many teams have been burnt in the past by system quarterbacks alike (Dave Klinger, Timmy Chang, etc.).
Additionally, his offense at Hawaii has remained noticeably unchanged over the last 8 years. He simply has perfected it just as Timmy Chang did, and his often-seen relief has also seen success on the field in the "system" when Brennan comes out of the game.
Finally, Colt Brennan has showed on more than one occasion during his career at Hawaii that he is not willing to gut out the injuries. NFL scouts cringe at that. The only way to win them back over is to have stand-out performances at both the Senior Bowl, and the NFL combine.

I think he will. He delivers his passes with incredible precision; his receivers often do not even miss a step. He is highly efficient and can lead many quick scoring drives (Just like Elway). In addition, while Hawaii's schedule has not been incredibly difficult; they have conquered Boise State handily (a top 25 ranked opponent) and usually removed him after the half, or third quarter after they start whooping on teams to the point they know they will win. He's the real deal. Just imagine if he was still on Colorado's football team; none of this talk would be going on.

Of course he'll get drafted. The guy is quite accurate. He needs to play for a pass happy or a spread offense. But, I don't follow NFL all that much, but I sure hope he does great.

are you stupid or something. of course it's the system. why do you think the NFL is lacking in QB's. i've seen QB's come and go from Texas Tech's offense and none have had good or even mediocre NFL carrers. when you throw the ball so much and dont see competition week in and week out it'll be hard for him to make it in the NFL.

the scrubs he's facing wont be the same in the NFL.

To your first question yes someone will pick him up because system or not he is an accurate passer, good evader and he can win games when they are behind. I see him getting picked up towards the end of the second round draft.

I don't believe he will be high on the draft list. Hawaii hasn't played the usual "Big Schools". But if he works hard he could go from the role of back-up to Starter one day.

he got to prove that he can because many qb were good in college and in the nfl end up not good in pro level.
