Cell Phone question?

im getting a cell phone next week, and i want to use prepaid cards ( the ones with minutes) i was wondering if i use those card, how can i get my phone number? since i got no contract.

ONCE YOU GET YOUR PHONE, THERE WILL BE INSTRUCTIONS WITH YOUR PHONE, USUALLY YOU WILL DIAL *2 OR SOMETHING AND THEN YOU WILL BE GUIDED THROUGH THE ACTIVATION PROCESS.... AND GIVEN A PHONE NUMBER....

they give them to you when you sign up or during installation
