How do they affect climate on land?

The ocean currents flow along the shores of many continents .Some flow from lower latitudes to higher latitudes and some other currents flow from higher latitudes to lower latitudes thereby thoroughly mixing the cold waters and warm waters of the oceans.Thus ,when they flow along the shores of continents, they decide the climate of the continents.For example, the Gulf stream makes the North-west Europe much more moderate than any other region on the same latitude.
