Hi Tinks when you find real love and lose it only raises your standards and makes new relationships impossible.

I agree that the world would be a colder place without love--colder emotionally that is. I have loved and lost many times (the most recent was when my boyfriend kicked me out of his life and home this past April). If I had not gotten to know him, I would not have gotten to know the special love I felt from him for nearly two years and would have had a lonely time being by myself all that time. He also taught me what I do and don't want in a partner. I learn this from every person I have a relationship with. So, I am happy I loved and lost, otherwise I would be a totally cold person inside that would have no joy in her life at all.

The feeling of love has absolutly no effect upon the climate conditions of the Earth - so it would not be a colder place without it !!!
Also love is not a battle ...... the very act of a battle is the opposite of everything love means...... a battle is where you wish to inflict pain and hurt to someone else........ where as love is partly about wanting to protect them from that hurt and pain !!!

Definitely better to have loved and lost but the pain sure is hard to bare, it's sort of like a loved one dying, first the desolation, then the anger, a huge quantity of tears. Then time as they say heals all and puts everything into perspective. A long process. Is it worth it??? YES!

Love should not be viewed as a battle to be won. Love should be considered as a gift of God, which should be distributed without any consideration of getting back in kind. It should be given without any selfish motive. If one loves without thinking of getting it back, one definitely gets it back without asking for it. Love is not a 'commerce', love is a commitment.

I agree with the saying. It can be tough to love and lose someone, but I think that it can make us better people with the lessons learned by the experience.

I don't agree with that saying. I would prefer to skip the pain by never loving at all.
