How fast do rain drops fall untill it hits the ground?

Raindrops fall at terminal velocity or even faster if they are pushed by a downdraft. But terminal velocity for even a large drop is not very high because the drop flattens out into sort of a pancake shape, so it actually has more air resistance than a sphere.

It depends on the size and weight of the raindrop how fast it falls: the heavier, the faster. At sea level, a large raindrop about 5 millimeters across (house-fly size) falls at the rate of 9 meters per second (20 miles per hour). Drizzle drops (less than 0.5 mm across, i.e., salt-grain size) fall at 2 meters per second (4.5 mph).

A rain drop which is falling picks up speed due to gravity. But the speed has a limit as the drops are slowed down by the drag of the surrounding air.As the rain drops have different sizes, the drag will also differ.Hence, each drop falls at a different speed as their sizes are different.

It depends on how far they fall. They are under constant accelleration due to gravity so the farther they fall, the faster they go. Size and wind resistance would factor in as well.
