No1 Rock Legend!
(YEA!!!)

Posted On: Friday, November 23, 2007 06:45 MST

Queen’s late frontman Freddie Mercury has been voted the top rock legend of all time in a fresh poll.

The star, who died in November 1991, beat the likes of Elvis Presley (second place) and Jimi Hendrix (third), in the highly debatable poll by Australia’s best selling newspaper The Herald Sun.

However, somehow middling rocker Jon Bon Jovi, who came in at fifth place, was above such legends as David Bowie (tenth), Mick Jagger (ninth) and, erm, Slash (sixth), questioning the integrity of the poll.

The full top ten looks like this:

1. Freddie Mercury
2. Elvis Presley
3. Jimi Hendrix
4. Ozzy Osborne
5. Jon Bon Jovi
6. Slash
7. Meatloaf
8. Eric Clapton
9. Mick Jagger
10. David Bowie

TOTAL ROCK GOD!!!!!

Freddy had not just one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time (the incredible Dr Brian may) but he was multi talent as a pianist, guitarist, AND he had one of the most unusual voices, is as much that his voice could span 2 octaves (unheard of in male singers) and he could adjust his voice to ANY genre, from rock to operatic (check out Barcelona for proof of that!!) basically the man was a total legend WHO was taken away far too early. to quote a certain queen song "only the good die young"!
