Start by not gunning it at any stoplights. What do you need more torque for? More torque comes from more power, which usually means more gas usage. Often hard to get more with less. Decide which is more important. A towing package can be a good thing for the lower gears and torque when you're towing, but you can still turn it off and get back to the overdrive gear for better mileage.

new tires filled to max pressure, tune up, cold air intake, programmer. clean airfilter, keep the tail gate up and the bed empty. dont carry any extra weight in the cab if you dont have to. what mpg are you getting, what engine size and what year. I have a 2005 with a 4.6 XLT supercab 4x4 and i average 15-18. Your driving style will make the biggest difference. if you have a V-8 do not let your RPMs go above 2,000 ever, while accelerating, driving or anytime, keep it under 2,000 and you will get better mileage.

yea its simple. spend about 50 bucks to get a cold air intake which will raise gas mileage and power. if u have the 5.4L V8 your going to need to get as much gas saving performance parts you can get. and you can always use higher octane gasoline
