My music teacher played it once. It was a piano composition, I think, and it was based on how the planets line up, their speeds, and other space math. It was actually very pretty :D My teacher said that it's how the solar system would sound if it were put on staves.

Does anyone have a link or an idea of what that song was? Please, I would love to find it again!

It doesn't have lyrics. It's classical...

And sorry, I don't think it's the one you showed me, Smiley. I will do some research on Kepler, though.

how about the Monty Python one that begins...

just remember that your standing on a planet that's evolving
and revolving and nine hundred miles an hour...
that's orbiting at ninety miles a second, so it's reckoned
a sun that is the source of all our power

and so on - you should be able to google for the rest

here's a link for those who want to listen...

Is it a rock song? I'm guessing there were lyrics?
It might have been an adaptation of 'The Planets' by Gustav Holst. It's a beautiful piece of music, and it's been covered by many modern composers:

Or, did the lyrics go;

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
The age of Aquarius
Aquarius!
Aquarius!

Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revalation
And the mind's true liberation
Aquarius!
Aquarius!

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
The age of Aquarius
Aquarius!
Aquarius!

If so, that's 'The 5th Dimension'

Edit - I found the following:

It also dawned on me that Johanne Kepler (mathematician) had represented each of the planets as a note, with it's pitch correlating to the planets speed. I did some searching and found this. You may want to dig a little further...it's getting late, and I'm off to bed. G'night and good luck. I hope our answers were of some assistance!

Hi. Is it this one from the 'Beach Boys'? http://www.lyricsfreak.com/b/beach+boys/solar+system_20013827.html
"What do the planets mean? and have you ever seen
Sunrise in the morn? it shined when you were born.
Saturn has rings all around it
I searched the sky and I found it

Solar system
Brings us wisdom

Then theres the milky way, thats where the angels play
Youve seen the lovers moon, looks good in the month of june
Neptune is God of the sea-ea-ea
Pluto is too far to see-ee-ee

Solar system
Brings us wisdom

The constellations are stars that form animals
Leo and capricorn, too
Star bright, star light
Make this wish come true tonight

If mars had life on it I might find my wife on it
Venus the goddess of love can thank all the stars above
Mercurys close to the sun
Youll see it when day is done

Solar system
Brings us wisdom
Solar system
Brings us wisdom
Solar"

As Smiley said, Holst wrote The Planets, but it is a whole suite and written for orchestra. It sounds like you are just talking about a little tune.

It's a switch for me, this time. My knowledge of astronomy didn't help me with this, but at least my knowledge of music makes me question the claim that this song somehow represents the planets on staves. There is no way I can see for that to be true. Of course, you could always draw circles on the lines and call them planets, but that really doesn't mean anything.

Sorry I couldn't help.
