I went to Our Lady Help of Christians School in elementary and since returning to the Chicago area cn no longer find any reference to it. Can any one help me? Just want to know what happened to it, definitively, (I assume it was closed, but don't know for sure) and what the former address is for it. Thanks if anyone can help.

Thanks guys, it was not a Greek Orthodox school, but a Roman Catholic school. But because I am PTSDish I am not even certain it even existed, LOL. Juan Fran, I did just check out GreatSchools.net and I asked a question cause I am good at that. We'll see what happens, thanks.

832 N LeClaire is where the Church is and yes it has been closed in recent years. I lived in the area and went to school there from 67 to 71 when we moved out. The school has long been closed but I understand the Jr High building is still being used. The area has deteriorated and is not very safe to go back to visit. Somethings are better left in your memory. Hope this helps you.

That sounds like a Greek Orthodox church school in Chicago-land where the Greeks mostly live. But I am not sure. I heard something like that name before when I was working out of there. Can't be sure of was that or just Our Lady of Help.
Good way to find out is contact the Chicago school board they should know all the Catholic and Greek Orthodox schools in and around Chicago.
If they can't help you the Illinois board of education might be able to help since all schools have to be licensed by the state.

I went to school at Our Lady Help of Christian school from 1940 to 1949 when I graduate .The BVM nuns were there at that time. Then I went to St. Dominic at Larrabee and Chicago Ave. I graduate from there in 1953.

There's a Facebook page dedicated to it. Very little information is on the page, but I did put up my class pic from 7th grade in 1972/1973
