After being there for a few hours and MANY plates, the manager came over and looked right into my moms eyes (shes a rather large woman but I love her) And said you and your clan need to leave. You have eaten enough. She was no where near done eating. Isn't that what a buffet is? All you can eat?!?! I mean did they have a right to make my mom and all of us leave cause most of my family is fat and has a large appetite?

In GC's defense, my mom had already eaten like 15 plates as had most of my aunts, etc.

Peace.

Absolutely not. That is actually illegal. A guy here sued a Chinese restaurant once for that very reason ~ and won! A buffet is all you can eat .. period! The price they charge is supposed to cover the amount of food people eat at one sitting. Most people do not eat enough to even warrant the amount they charge as it is like buying hot food in "bulk" ... kind of like the Costco or Sam's Club of restaurants you know? It costs them very little to make it because they make large quantities of the same stuff. And as you know ... most of it is cafeteria type cheap food.

Whoa! If that were my mom I woulda let that guy have it. What a jerk! Grrrr. He tried to humiliate her and I say do NOT let him get away with that. Some of my family members struggle with their weight as well so this just p*sses me off. How dare him! And on Thanksgiving of all days. Grrrrr again!

OK ... here's the link for ya ... they are a corporate entity and you need to file a complaint. This is their contact page. Be sure and give a good description of the manager who said this and tell them you are thinking about contacting a lawyer. Make sure you give them your contact info. You don't have to really sue ... but you need to let them know you won't be treated this way and you won't return to eat either if something isn't done. Do not sugar coat it ... sound as p*ssed off as possible without getting too rude.

Leave it at that and let them contact you. Hey ... at the very least I am sure you'll get an apology for your mom and perhaps a few free meals. That's the LEAST they could do.

Let 'em have it! lol

I hope this helps and peace to you! =)

Absoultely not!!! A buffet is simply that. Eat what you want and how much you want. There is no time limit posted on the length of time you have to eat. I would reportt this to the Golden Corral main office. That manager needs to be replaced.
By the way I just visited a County Buffet where the 3 elderly people at the next table stole , salads, turkey, potatoes and gravy even!! They brought baggies and stuffed their purses and pockets. I reported it to the management and they watched them but am afraid it was to late. Nothing they can do unless they see them taking it,

They could have raised the price for the Holiday or decrased the quality of the food, if that's possible, for the day.

Hey, everybody is looking for a financial edge these days.

Unless there is a posted limit, this is illegal. Financially, a few big eaters balance out those who eat very little.
