Hi Everyone:
I'm trying to setup a wireless network through D-Link's Router (DI-624 ver. C) and having some problems. I got the router at a garage sale and I know I have all of the wires connected, but when I use the network setup, it says I'm not connected to the Internet. I tried to log onto 192.168.0.1 and change the setting, but I cannot log on. What do I do? Are the settings from the previous user still set, so am I screwed? Thanks for your help!

that ip address can sometimes be th ip address of your modem try 192.168.1.1 like I had to do with my d-link router. "admin" is you user name and "password" will be your default password. That should get you into the menu's and your off and running. Make sure you modem is plugged into the WAN port and your pc's into the others. They have a residual memory but just above where the power supply plugs in there is a reset hole, A paper clip will do hold that down for 30 secs and see if it resets.

first thing to do is to reset the router
Hold in the little button in the back with a pin for 20 seconds or so
a setup on cable is easier , with dsl its a pope or whatever setup where you enter your isp account and password
have to tell it to log on once
Set up manually - better than the disc and you will have some idea of what is going on
input from isp modem is the single wan port
computers go into 4 wan ports
If you really have trouble you can update the bios but i would not run to that
There will be instructions on the dlink website
in browser type 192.168.0.1
account admin password admin ( usually)
you can call tech support of dlink
change the ssid network name and channel from defaults
( 1 and 11 are first picks)

First you gotta have internet connectivity coming out of the wall somewhere with a modem connection. The router then connects to the modem.
