It is a VERY cute name, I will give you that. 4 years ago when I had my first son, I considered that name for him...in fact I had never heard it before andI actually thought I had made it up :) But now, like the Michaels and Jennifers of the late seventies/early eighties it is so overused, imo. When I had my youngest in August one of the nurses in the hospital was telling me how many people are naming their kids this and that they all seem to think it's uncommon. Well wake up, it's not! If you like the name and can't agree on anything else, then ok but just remember that when he/she goes to school he/she will be Jayden/ Jaden R. or Jayden/Jaden S. because every other kid has that name :)

I'm with you!
I don't like the Jayden Brayden Aiden Cayden trend at all.
I also am so sick of seeing so many Emma's or Emily's. It's so overdone!

I know what you mean!! The worst thing is that so many people are trying to make the name "less common" by spelling it in some stupid way. Jaeden, Jayden, Jaiden, Jaidan and on and on...it's horrible! I like the name, and have nothing against it, I just hate it when people over use a name. I have an EXTREMELY common first name, (not Jennifer though! lol), and I think pretty much every year in school I had to be known with my last initial because there was always someone else with the same first name.

I'm pregnant with my second child, and don't know if it's a boy or girl yet, but if it's a girl, my husband is dead set on naming her Hannah. I love the name, but she's likely to go to school where every other girl in her class is named Hannah, and I don't want that.

Anyways, thanks for letting me rant here for a moment. :P

I agree, I just heard of another kid with that name today. Yuck. I mean it's kinda cute but not good for a man and tooooo popular. And who in the world would name a girl Jayden? Just want to add that I feel the same for Aidan, Riley, and Caden. Yuck!

I soo agree with you!
These people think that naming their kids the newest trendy names is going to be uncommon, when there will be atleast 3 in every classroom once they start school.

Like, Caden, Braden, Aidan
and Payton, Mattie, and Ella/Bella

They try to stray away from the "old trendy" names, which yes, are trendy in their age group, but not with the new generation.
Now, there will be one Ashley or Michael in every class, and plenty of Jaden's and Ella's

I wanted to name my son Jayden, but I realized it was becoming very popular, so I compromised and named him Avery Jayden.

It's a crap name that was popularized by a bimbo pop star who ended up being a crap mother.

It's just a trashy name that people think is creative and uncommon.

Hopefully people will get a clue soon.

You can give me a thumbs down... it's still a stupid and trashy name.

I so hope I "scared" someone away from giving their child this atrocity of a name.

Amen, sister. Also Aiden, Brayden, Caiden, etc. and Madison, Isabella, Sophia, Mikayla, Kaylin, Kaitlyn, Kylie, Kaylee, etc. etc. etc. Then there's the trashy ones like Nevaeh, Destiny, Desiree, Mercedes...

Ouch.

Thats sort of harsh.

No one attacked what you named your children...

no need to freak on others, espically when there not your children or your place to tell someone what to name your child.

It's people like this that scare expectant parents away from telling people what they will name there baby before they are born.
