yeah just look in the back of your computer and there shoul be three holes they look like headphone jacks and should be color coated like green red and purple or somthing like that if not then you need to buy a sound card depending on what your usingit for it can be fairly cheap alsoto test it turn on your speakes and put the headphone cable in each one of the jacks and wait till you hear your music playing hopr this helps

actually, depending on your computer, you might be able to tell just by looking at the back where all the wires hook up at. your standard ATX style case, the ones the stand vertically, have all the PCI slots towards the bottom, this is where your, video, network, and sound card would be. your speakers will be plugged into it. Otherwise, if its an "onboard" or "built in" sound, it will be towards the center/upper left of the back. probably next to where your keyboard and mouse hook up. Its not too often that I see the on board sound anymore...most computer companies are nice and just use a cheap PCI type.

See the back panel of the computer (behind the CPU case). If there are a connector that allow you to connect audio cable that means you have. Normally the motherboard will include a onboard audio component for you. Mostly it is a driver problem. Reinstall the driver.

If your computer has a sound card (and any computer made in the last 8 years probably does), you will see the speaker jacks at the back of your computer. Usually these jacks will be three small holes where the speakers plug into. One will likely be highlighted in green, one in blue and one in red.

If you can play music and sound comes out of the speakers then you have a sound card. And if no sound comes out then your missing drivers to your sound card because almost all computers have sound cards.

Go to start on your computer panel if you are running windows

Go to Control Panel

Go to performance and maintenance

go to system

click on the hardware tab

go to device manager

AND U SHOULD SEE SOUND, VIDEO AND GAME CONTROLLERS SOMEWHERE ON THE LIST!

More importantly if you turn your speakers on and you have sound, U have a sound card. Good luck!

it should be obvious. Your computer case, not the tower, should have a microphone input and for speaker inputs. Check your computer system under Control Panel and select hardware to check the contents of your PC

If you have speakers, you have a sound card. Look on the back of the hard drive and you will see connection for a mic (microphone) audio input and output. that is your sound card.
