your tank is too small for a pleco anyway, they get about 18" and should be in nothing less than a 30gallon. try some cory cats instead.

Pleco would only come out when the lights are out at night and when it peaceful (no hands or anything else scaring it). So be patient and he'll come out eventually. My 12 year old pleco still won't leave his cave until I turn off the lights for at least 1-2 hours. They don't jump out of fish tanks so don't worry about that. And they're pretty good with hiding, so just sit back and wait till he's less afraid in the dark.

Write a story about your missing fishy, maybe he got sucked up through the filter and ended up in another deminsion or something. I more suggestion from me is to look behing the heater, mine likes to hide there all of the time. He may even like to suck on the heater or part of the filter. I feel bad for you, really. With the fish you have, they would do no more than pick at his slimecoat once he is dead, so they could not have killed him. Did you absolutely look everywhere around your room? Good luck!

I'd say to just wait for him to appear again, if you searched thouroughly around the tank, chances are he's still home just hiding. I had two clown loaches that squeezed into an ornament that I couldn't fit my thumb into if I try, and they were constantly popping in and out of the ornament, so chances are he's just hiding for a while. So just wait for him to appear. Or, if he jumped, wait for the smell X (. Good Luck!

Leave the light off or just turn the light off for a few hours he will more than likely come out of hiding.

It may be under the substrate. Most plecs find time in hanging in the substrate.
