I think I could be pregnant, and if so I will have an abortion. Will I have to stop taking the pill before this procedure?

Yes, you need to stop taking the pill if you are going to have an abortion. Your cycle needs to re-regulate after the abortion. The clinic will inform you and give you more pills. They will also give you counseling and tell you your options. I would bring someone you trust with you. When you go to the clinic you will feel like you are not alone. This is your choice. No one has the right to tell you what is best for you. That is why we have laws for this. Best of luck to you.

OK im 100 percent prolife and I have very strong feelings about it. But you people need to stop insulting this poor girl! Do you really think your insults are going to help her make a different decision? As far as the question goes, you probably wont need to go off the pill to get an abortion, but i will say this. Get yourself fully educated about what you are doing to your baby before you do something you will regret. Even at an early stage of pregnancy, the development of a fetus is great. they have fingers and toes and a beating heart. Abortion is cruel and torturous for the baby. Find out what the abortion clinic wont tell you. Every single person I know who has had an abortion regrets their decision. Having a child is a scary and tough thing to do. But its also worth it. Adoption is a very honorable alternative. You have an opportunity to give a couple a child who possibly will never have children on their own. Or become a mother and raise your child. It is the best thing I ever did (i had a baby at 18) Good Luck and feel free to email me if you need anything

I completely agree with the majority on this one. While I am pro choice, depending on the reason, this is definately one moment where I'd like to say, NO! to all of it. You don't even know if you ARE pregnant, so therefore, you should keep taking the pill until or unless you get a medical opinion. As for the abortion, if you kill that baby, you may end up killing what trust you had with anyone. What do you think your family would say if they read this? Grow up, and get yourself tested. ONLY get an abortion if there is a HIGH risk of death.

I know that you are not asking about an abortion, you are asking if you should stop taking the pill before you have one. However, think of it this way, please- if you were on the pill, and you got pregnant anyway, how can you consider this baby anything less than a gift- babies are gifts, not choices- and by the way, an abortion is not the easy way out. I have never had one, but I have counseled many women who have, and/or were considering one.

How can you be so cold like that?

Is this your method of birth control?
You lay on your back and have sex, and then just say well I can't do it I'll have an abortion. Well that's settled what are we eating tonight? Just think if your mother had gotten an abortion with you, you wouldn't be here today. Apparently you are not responsible enough to handle your sh**. Maybe you should grow up before thinking about having sex again... you disgust me. I don't even care what your reasoning is, there is NO reason to ever kill a child so the girl above who said that you have your rights.. your right you do have your rights you have the right to explain to God why you felt it necessary to take your own childs life, why you gave that baby life momentarily and then took it back. Think about women today killing their children at ages 2 or 3 or older.. its the same thing. All children no matter how small, no matter what age deserve to live.

"If men strive, and hurt a women with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life" (Ex.21:22-23).

God does not make exceptions that tolerate injury to any pregnant mother, or any child in the womb. In fact CURSES "come upon" and "overtake" nations that refuse to administer justice (Deut. 28:15).

If God does not tolerate exceptions to the administration of justice concerning murder by abortion, then neither should His people.

Yes, there is no need to take the pill, so you should stop taking it now, and resume after the procedure.

(Despite being anti-abortion, I am answering the question asked here and nothing more, since she didn't ask for opinions on whether she should do it or not.)

if you are on the pill and are responsible on that chances are you arent pregnant and if you are dont just say hey i think ill get rid of the problem. weigh your options, there is always adoption and i have talked to many women over the years about abortion and all the ones who have had it have regretted it, it changes their life for the worse after it happens. you should stop taking the pill bc you may change your mind so you dont want to cause even more damage. good luck to you. ill keep you in my prayers.

I don't know much about the pill as I've never taken it before and all I've heard about it is pretty bad. That aside though, please rethink the abortion idea. It really is putting an end to a life that had no choice to be there in the first place. Surely you can consider adoption. If you are scared of birthing there are ways to make that easier, too. Please, please don't do it. I'm pretty sure you will regret it for the rest of your life and though the baby will be in heaven, you will have to live with the pain. For your own sake do you think it's worth that?

How about you stop taking the pill and have the baby??? There are thousands of loving people who can't have children who will pay for your ENTIRE pregnancy and birth just to give your baby a loving home. You got pregnant. Now grow up and take responsibility.

I really don't think it matters if you continue to take the pill since you will be terminating the pregnancy anyway. But-- if you're already pregnant you can't really get any MORE pregnant, so there's no point in taking it. You will be fine. :)
