They can if they find a doctor who is willing to perform the C-Section. Most doctors would not be very willing, since C-Sections have a higher risk of complications for both the mother and the baby than a typical vaginal delivery.
However if you are overdue, have a large baby, or have a medical condition which would make vaginal delivery more difficult on you, you should talk to your OB/Gyn to see if they are willing to do a C-Section. They will let you know if it's okay, and if it wasn't they'd probably suggest some alternatives that would take care of your concerns in the safest possible way.
Good luck to you and congrats on your baby!

Yes they can. However, I don't know why anyone would choose a C Section over vaginal birth. The healing time for a C Section is about 6 weeks, and the pain lasts much longer. While you can be up and walking same day if you do a vaginal birth. Most doctors will try to steer you away from C Sections for that reason alone. Some doctors however won't do a C Section on someone that's capable of giving vaginal birth, so it all depends on the doctor in the end. If you are trying to decide which one to go with, the vaginal birth is much better for you and baby. It's easier to bond with baby if you are able to get up and get them when s/he cries.

yes you can, but why would you want too? i have had to v births and one c section the recovery is so hard with a c section and long and here i am 9 months later with complications. if you are able to id say have a v birth you will be happy you did, especially once you have one your chances of have a v bac are less and if you have to have c sections the amount of children you can have will lessen bc they can only open you so many times. if you are afraid to give birth talk to your dr or midwife and see about some stres relieving exercises or something. best of luck

Yes, but why would they do that? I wish I could have had a natural birth, but my son had a birth defect that required a c-section. It's an unnecessary surgery, but I can't tell anyone what to do with their body.

Some doctors may allow that, but why put your body through a major surgery. I have had 2 csections and believe me they are not a walk through the park. It is very hard to take care of your baby after a csection. I would avoid it if possible.

THE DID A RECENT STUDY, AND THERE ARE MORE DEATHS DURING CHILDBIRTH NOW THAN EVER BEFORE. AND GUESS WHY??? C SECTIONS. 98% OF DRS WILL NOT GIVE A C SECTION UNLESS THEY HAVE TOO. DUE TO THE ASTRONOMICAL AMOUNT OF DEATH RELATED C SECTIONS THESE PAST YEAR OR TWO. SOME HAPPENING ON THE TABLE, SOME POSTPARTUM.

I know some do, but I don't understand it. You're putting yourself thorough major abdominal surgery and you'll be out of commission for at least a couple of weeks, when you want to be pouring yourself into your new baby.
