Check with a local nursery but I doubt that the pomegranate tree could survive the winters in Kentucky.

Your hardiness zone should be 6b
It is my understanding that they will grow in zone 6a/b but will not produce fruit. That they produce fruit best in zones 8 to 11. Dwarf container grown produces good fruit in the colder zones.
I live in zone 6a MO. Would love to give it a try.
My theory, you won't know until you try it. So why not try.
Good Luck! Yum Yum!
