I'm looking for a list of the worlds countries where presumably North Korea is on one end and the country with the most economic freedom on the other.

Singapore at 3.5 is at the top and north Korea is 0 at the bottom. Others are

The wikipedia link below shows the countries that are officially socialist (socialism is mostly associated with economic policy). Communism is used interchangeably with socialism on the web page, a convention that continued from the Cold War. Note that althuogh some economies have socialist elements, these elements are usually very weak and represent economic illeteracy rather than adherence with the ideals of socialism (though it is not economically sound either!).

For example, a major hot button political topic for France before the presidential elections was the maximum 8 hour working day cap for all citizens. It was known that this was a major contributing factor to the economic decline (compared to other European states) of France as well as a major cause of unemployment (8.7% in 2006).
