My friend wants to use ∞ but she is working on a laptop. She can't just copy and paste (don't ask me why...) and she can't use a character map (again, don't ask me why...)

Help is appreciated!

To do ∞, you need ALT-236.

On the laptop, first you have to activate the numeric keypad. Usually that's done by Shift-NumLk.

To get the 236, since there is no dedicated numeric keypad on a laptop, you have to use substitute keys as follows:

0 is the M key
1 is J
2 is K
3 is L
4 is U
5 is I
6 is O
7 is 7
8 is 8
9 is 9

If you look at the keys above they are arranged approximately like a numeric keypad. Sometimes laptop keys have an extra key label showing this numeric keypad.

So to get ∞, first you do Shift-NumLk, then ALT-KLO (hold the ALT key while you type KLO)

Hi. The symbol ∞ is not in the character map (don't ask me why, it should be. But I think it can be added using the OBJ at the end of the list.

Edit. Tried it with no luck, sorry. ∞
