Otos will do a dandy job of cleaning up diatoms, they stay small and are very cute. And they won't add that much to your bio load

Stay away from the chinese algae eaters - they get very aggressive as they mature. The Siamease algae eaters are the best, but they are very hard to find.

Do weekly water changes and your algae problem will become manageable.

The best thing you can do for diatom algae is to reduce the silicates in your water and wait it out it's part of new tank syndrome and will go away after 3-9 months. Also buy an algae scrubber.
