She teacher high school US History and Government.
She loves warmer places.

Congratulations and it's very thoughtful of you to think of where she would like to go. Do you two like to do the touristy thing, would you rather be reclusive, a little of both? I've heard Hawaii is beautiful. St. Bart's is as well. South America has some great resorts as well, and some wonderful history to check out. If she doesn't like the cold, Paris in January probably wouldn't be a good idea although I'd definitely go in the future. Wow, good luck and have fun! :)

Will she be able to get away from school in January? Also, are you planning to take a 2 week honeymoon, longer? There are a lot of nice warm places to go--Egypt, Morocco, Spain & Portugal, Brazil. Costa Rica is supposed to be wonderful and not overly developed (yet). India. They have luxury cruises in Europe, the Carribean, etc. It's not warm but maybe a cruise in Alaska. If she won't have much time in Jan. to take a thorough honeymoon, perhaps just running away for a week to some beach would suffice for January, and then both of your plan something more extensive (and possibly exotic) for later after school lets out.

No doubt...skip Hawaii...Tahiti. I've been there (Bora Bora, Moorea and the main island) Yes...it is expensive, but worht EVERY penny. You can get one of those cool over water bungalows that have glass coffee tables so you can look down below The one we stayed at even opened so you could ffed the fish! You swim right off your deck and at the Pearl Beach Resort (Bora Bora) they will bring you breakfast by boat right up to your deck...Tahiti...honestly...it's fablous!! Look into package deals to save some $$$ -if they offer an all inclusive.meals type deal .go for...and if you go...do the swimming ith sharks and sting ray trip.. You will never see water like you do in tahiti - P.S. I'm a teacher too, economics -also seniors -good luck. I'd be curious what you end up with...

I say Paris sounds like her thing! Followed by a beach vacation in the South of France.

After thinking about it, I decided that South France would not be very warm in January I don't think. Greece would be. A tour of the islands is very honeymoonish!

Why not take her someplace Exotic? Cartagena Colombia (Where they filmed Romancing the Stone and Love in the time of Cholera) Is very romantic.. beautiful beaches (Go to isla rosario -bring bug spray) nice people and not over spendy.

You can consider Spain or Rome. I think they are one of the most romantic places around.

Happy Honeymoon!
