The Peppermill has added a new tower. They have the best buffet in town. The poker room is great with friendly people.
The Grand Sierra has opened or will open a new nightclub. The swimming pool features Nikki Beach adult parties at night (when the pool is open). It has its own shopping mall, movie theater, and bowling alley.
Make sure you join the slot clubs so you get great rates on hotel rooms.
I just stayed at Circus Circus this past week. The kids love the circus acts every hour. I had fun winning stuffed animals for them. There is a shuttle between buildings that my oldest has to ride back and forth just for fun.

It depends on how much you want to spend. Silver Legacy is very nice, but pricey. The Eldorado is decent, but not much cheaper. Last few times we were there, we stayed at the Sands Regency, off the main drag, very nice rooms, reasonably priced, but the casino sucks. The Eldorado's casino is ginormous. One other note, whatever you do don't stay at Circus Circus, that place is a freakin' nightmare!
