There seems to be some validity to the "Full Moon" theory, especially, in the summer months; if you ask law enforcement and ER personel. There also seems to be an inordinate amount of road kill on nights with a full moon as well. The road kill increase many attributed to a disruption in the non-nocturnal prey and hunters moving about in the light of the full moon, and the nocturnal hunters and prey animals sight being impared by too much light from the full moon, imparing their occular sensitivity and depth perception, and so not only are the typical night hunters killed in greater numbers, but so are a number of light dwelling creatures who's circadian rythums have been thrown off by the full moon's light output on cloudless summer nights.

Does it / did affect me? Perhaps when I was a teen , just post pubescent, full of raging hormones - and leading the charge was testosterone - perhaps so - for I remember that quite a few of the all night keg parties - and then frenzied and needy back seat couplings on nights when the breezes were hot and sticky and soon the night air and our breath combined to condence on the interior of the car windows, and the the light of the full moon made the water droplets shimmer like diamonds stuck to the glass.

There were the full moon horror stories that our parents heard from their parents, passed down to out older brothers and sisters, which in turn were passed along to us, and down through the generations - urban and rural legends - of the "Hook", "The toe nails scraping on the roof of the car - that she though were just branches", and other great ghost stories.

Where would the Wolfman, Dracula, the Frankenstien Monster. the Mummy, and so many other night terrors be without the full moon? How could you have a proper Halloween without the full Moon as a back drop for a witch flying high on her broom stick?

Poor Richard's Almanac uses the full moon as a planting guide for planting everything from new potatos to to other garden vegatables. There are certain church Rituals which are conducted to coincide with the coming of, arrival, and waining of the full Moon. The Moon is a love sign, and it influences the tides, it is the means by which sailors plied their trade to the east, and returned home safely again.

Without the Moon the Greeks under Agamemnon could never have set sail a thousand ships to rescue the fair and lovely Helen of Troy. The Spanish Armada could have never Sailed for England, and Katrina could never have inundated New Orleans.

Oh yes, I guess I must say there is magic in a full moon, always has been, and always will be.

Actually I thought the moon was full everyday just that on some days there's a shadow on part of it. But then again I might be wrong. And maybe it's not the moon but the shadow that affects people.
