I think so. They stare at some sort of screen all day. noe of them know how to ride bikes, play kickball, or play freeze tag or even shoot some pool, like we did in my day.
I once dated a guy with an eight year old kid who coul not ride a bike. COuld you imagine being eight and not knowing how to ride your bike yet??? How embarrassing for him...and sad too.

Its all about the extremes. Technology is convienient, it opens up new roads/careers, new ways to learn and explore etc. and it connects us all.
It can be bad though especially for you youth if it is used primarily for gaming etc. and its more of an addiction rather than just another medium.
Also, Im a university student and though I like the conveniences of being able to find academic journals and most books online and through the convince of my own room (we get the service through the school), I think it takes us away from libraries which to me is a negative.
As for music devices, cell phones etc. I dont like how they have become an indicator of status where everyone NEEDS to have an iPod or the latest 8GB cell phone that does everything but make proper phone calls lol.
Its all about avoiding the extremes and making the best of what is available:)
There are extremes; moderate and you can gain more benefits and minimize the negatives.
Hope this helps.

No, because by saying so also implies that computer is a bad thing.
They are not. Without a computer and the Internet, we will all be living under a nutshell, and learning only as much as school teaches us.
Certain country's government are even controlling the Internet with censorship for political reasons. That's how powerful the internet is as a tool of sharing information and communication.

Sort of. Some kids today don't know what to do without tech toys. They don't play hide n seek, tag, catch, ride bikes around the block like I use to. Instead they are always trying to beat the next level on a video game. When you play video games it sometimes makes playing hide n seek look boring. I feel sorry for them at times.

Yes I think so, especially fast cars and violent computer games. Add internet to that list. Internet is totally unsensored. One can find all the good and bad things on the internet more easily than in real life. People are getting things too quick, faster than they can assimilate.

I, personally, hate all of these 8 year olds walking around on the their cell phones, listening to their ipods, while chatting on their laptop. When I was a kid you were lucky to have a toy that made noise!

Yeah it's making the dumb as hell and even lazier.
Like the kid that just asked how far it was from TN to FL...
How much effort and intelligence does it take to figure that out ?
Just keep watching, there will be plenty more...

Well, on the average they are heavier than ever, so I would say in that regard technology isn't helping.
