The U.S. is perceived as liberal mainly because American media supports this philosophy and has worldwide outreach. Extreme left-wing groups have raised billions of dollars for liberal political candidates as well. In exchange for higher political offices Democrat congressmen must now adhere to their leftist/socialist policies. These politicos and their new masters scheme to tax the U.S. into oblivion and punish those who have been successful in a capitalist system. Yes, the president is conservative, but he is out-numbered by the current herd of liberal cattle at his doorstep.

We're liberal when compared to many countries around the globe (The Arabian Penn. is a great example).
Yes, Bush is looked upon as Conservative (in relation to the US's standing in the world.

these are liberal ideas according to the rest of the world that we use:

we give everyone rights... we don't kill homosexuals... we let our women vote and dress how they like... we let minorities vote... we have welfare programs... we have business with little regulation... we are open to religions...

I think you get the idea... what many think of as "liberal" is VERY different compared to what the world thinks of as liberal...

and also, Bush can not simply change the entire government in 8 years... we have checks and balances...

The US is actually seen as conservative when you compare it to Europe, especially the Netherlands. They have legalized marijuana and same-sex marriage. We haven't done that. But when you look at the Middle East, such as in Saudi Arabia, the US is very liberal. Our women actually have rights, for one. And we have separation of church and state.

I think anyone who really delves into American politics and culture would probably see the opposite. However, most people know America, by its movies, music, tv shows, etc. Which shows the USA to be very liberal, so that gives people the impression we are a liberal country.

Because the majority of the news media is totally liberal. And the communist minded countries won't let their citizens see or hear Fox News. They fear the truth, just like all commucrats do.
