The N.E. Patriots were in the AFC championship game last year while the Packers had to win their last 4 games th finish .500.The Patriots have the most talented team, high seniority, and high salary cap.The Packers have the youngest team in the NFL, they are starting 7 rookies and have one Brett Favre. Pats..10-0.Pack 10-1. WHY WOULD Brady be the favorite to win the MVP?? Isn't the MVP award given to the individual who does the most to help their TEAM???That is TEAM??? The Pats should win...The Packers are winning because Brett Favre is LEADing his team by example...And they kick a field goal on 4th down..Brady says they want to killlll everyone?? If the season ends as it is going now, I don't see where there would be any question as to who is the MVP!!! FAVRE of course. I'm a Packer fan, but I am also a die hard football FAN..WE all should be thankful to be witnessing what Brett is doing..Favre is a living AND playing LEGEND! Brady is just beginning!! FAVRE 4 MVP!

this is an argument I have been making.

Is Brady a better player than Favre this year? Sure, probably.
Does he have better stats? Even record breaking stats? Yeah.

BUT. MVP=most valuable player.
I know this is beat into the ground in this discussion, but this is where Favre's argument lies. Without Favre, where are the Packers? Sure they've got a great defense. But who's to say that defense would not be playing quite so well if there wasnt more to play for; if their team didnt have only a lone loss and a prolific offense.

Point is Favre has performed remarkably with very little "tools" on offense. Brady has performed even more remarkably, but with great talent around him.

Personally, I would give the MVP to the Pats' O-line, but thats a whole different school of thought.

Favre's got an argument, but try convincing that to writers who have witnessed a trampling of their local team by the Pats.

Brady is the MVP for 2007 but Favre is a better overall QB and Brady would need to have a year like this for at least 10 in a row to be compared to Favre.

I too pick Favre, but something tells me Brady will walk away with the MVP because people base their opinion off of popularity. not saying that Brady doesn't deserve it, I just think Favre has done so much more with the Packers this year.

The MVP should be given to the player who is more valuable to his team, not to the one who sets records.

Unfortunately, the voters will choose Brady as they chose Manning in 2004, Alexander in 2005 and LT in 2006.
