No, that was a different Song. Mary Hopkin was discovered by Paul McCartney when the Beatles were still together. He loved the Song, and allowed her to release it on the Beatle's Apple Label. I think that it went.... " Those were the Days my Friend, We thought they'd never end, we'd sing and laugh forever and a Day, We'd Fight and never lose, for we were free to choose, we were Young, and sure to have our way ". That may not be exactly right, but it's close. I think it was around 1968 or 1969.

Depends on which song you're referring to. I was thinking of the one that went "Those were the days, my friend... we thought they'd never end... we'd sing and dance forever and a day..." it's an upbeat tune - not sure if it's from a musical or not, but it was on the radio a LOT when I was a kid in the 60's/early 70's. The one from All in the Family was called something else, but had that phrase in it.

Her song from 1968 is reminiscent of a "Fiddler on the Roof" number, which it was not.
The "All in the Family" TV show song was a take-off of the same theme.

Maybe it's that theme song from 'All in the Family' that Archie and Edith sing at the beginning of the show.

Boy, the way Glen Miller played
Songs that made the "Hit Parade"
Guys like us, we had it made...
Those were the days.
And I know how you were then
Girls were girls, and men were men
Brother we could use a man
Like Herbert Hoover again"
Didn't need no welfare states
Everybody pulled his weight
Guys like us we had it made.
Those were the days!
If that's the song you're referring to, it is definitely the theme song from "All in the Family" sung by "Edith and Archie" as they sat at the piano.
