1gb is about 250 songs. There is no ipod nano with 1gb... only the ipod shuffle. The nano with 4gb holds about 1000 songs.

to the person below me: 250+250+250+250=1000
or... 250 times 4= 1000
you do the math...

notice how i say "about"
its how apple judges their gb.

No, It depends on how many Min's the songs are. Some songs can be 2: Min's and 30 seconds and some can be 5:00 Min's. So you have to do the math in order to get 2000 or 8000 songs on your ipod.

Based on your theory, yes that calculation is correct.

But how many songs are there that are 500kb?s
Usually, a Song is around 2 or 4 mb. Isnt it?

Back on the subject, yes if each song was 500kb, your ipod would hold 8000 songs.

But I doubt that your songs are going to be that small.

For instance, I have a song that is 4 mins long, and it's 9 mb.
Recorded@ 320kbs/sec.

So I think it's more like 4gb holds somewhere around 1250 songs.

LOL
dont know...all depends on the size of the song.
And how long and what qualtiy changes the size of the song.
