It is estimated that as much as 80% of the world's population lives in poverty or very close to it. We all know the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. But what if the poor people said enough is enough and started looting stores, burining down buildings, blowing up cars and protesting the governments to give them an opportunity to get out of poverty. Will the world economy come to a standstill, how do you think the governments of the world would react to such a mass uprising

Armageddon? The problem is that there is not enough resources in the world economy for all to become middle class. Wealth is relative to the poorest people. Our Nike's would be too expensive to afford. Oh, and the poor people would be labeled as terrorists and renegades and declared war upon and exterminated (sadly) ever hear of East Timor? They were an obstacle in the 70's for indonesia and now they are gone. Hopefully these poor people will be assisted somehow and will never sacrifice themselves to a hailstorm of bullets and bombs. Ghandi is a great example for protests though, nonviolence is the best way to fight, violence gives cause to more violence.

First, I dispute your 80 percent figure, probably conjured up by a UN employee looking to justify his existance. Secondly, the "we all know that" is unsubstantiated. Moreover, poverty is not equal, many people would sell their first-born into slavery to live at the poverty level in the US.

Most revolutions start not so much because the poor do all these cool things that you describe, but because the MIDDLE CLASS senses that it is growing poorer.

There is an interesting parallel. Before World War I, Socialists were convinced that their governments would never go to war because the workers would unite and go out in a general strike across Europe. When the time came ripe for the general strike, the workers marched down to their enlistment offices and became willing soldiers.
Moral: don't count on the poor to pull the chesnuts of misery in the world out of the fire.

I have a better idea to fight poverty? Why don't you get a job.
blowing up stuff other people have worked hard to get is hardly a solution. Get an education if the job doesn't pay enough. Study hard and then get a better job until you do make more money.
But to start looting stores of people who do work hard and save is totally wrong. That is what starts a civil war and it just makes everyone poor.

Anarchy.

The world's economy is not the problem, but part of the solution. Good jobs will erase poverty.

Too many of the world's poor are that way because their government has failed to protect them in civil wars. Most of the press doesn't report this. Why?

First, the undesirable human beings of this international do no longer have the elements had to coordinate this journey. even if, as a lot as I hate to admit it, in our very much improper economic structure, the undesirable and the wealthy count on one yet another. presently contained in the international, undesirable human beings would carry the overall public of the organic elements (richer international locations having exhausted there elements), even if the wealthier international locations carry the overall public of the international's guns. Why is acquainted with who could win this kind of conflict? surely, each area could be losers. Poverty is being endured by the topic matters in human society and the commercial gadget. The question is, a thanks to fix it?

Guy that solves nothing. it would just make a big mess. The muslims already did that in france and the frence Elected a new PM who told the muslims be french or be gone. It's about time. First of all, be thankful for what you have, then give 10% to help others, it will come back to you in surprising ways. for encouragement, listen to ttb.org.

Not much would happen because there isn't anything to loot in the places where these poor people live. Do you think there's a lot of booty in africa and southeast asia where a great percentage of the poor live?

Starving countries are due to governments that are corrupt and do not care for their populations. Riots give those countries someone to shoot at; most riots only give the governments targets and they wipe out the problems.

Get a job and you won't be poor. The government would shoot you. The old days of rading other countries and taking their stuff is over. Now we do it the new way. We buy it.
