Yes i agree with you that the whole world is becoming more materialistic everyday. It's so dumb. I wouldn't have been caught at the mall or any shopping store today. people get crazy and they start acting weird. They push shove, and run into you. These people need help. Most of the time you doont really save money. They just lower the price a little and after they tax it, it ends up being the same price. I went to visit my boyfriends mom. It was cool. better than being in the a crowded mall all day.

I had to work for 9 years on the other side of the counter and have avoided shopping on that day like the plague ever since. I can't see how any savings -- unless a tremendous deal for something I already needed -- is worth the stress of that day. I haven't seen anything yet that's worth it, personally.
Waking up early. Waiting in lines for hours. Fighting a mob of people for limited specials and then waiting in lines to check out for an hour again. Fighting the traffic. Psh, I'll pay the extra $10 for the DVD I wanted online rather than go through that hell.

What a great institution! The shopaholics get to have the time of their lives;bargain hunters are given the chance to make a solid killing just in time for Christmas and people who hate crowds and noise, or just shopping in general, get to spend the day with their families doing something they feel good about or just huddling around the t.v. feeling superior to all the idiots out there ...Long live black Friday!

Some people have deer camp. Some have Black Friday. To many, it's a tradition, which adds the fun to the day.
I myself went to Walmart at 8 am for one item but that was it. Fighting crowds is not enjoyable to me but for some on limited budgets, its worth the hassle to get a loved one something they couldn't otherwise afford this year.
It's a sport for some though , hunting that hard-to-find item or bargain.

I can't deal with the viciousness. I'm not about to punch somebody in the mouth over the last toy on the shelf like today's shoppers would.

Sorry, I enjoyed it. Power shopping. I left the house at 4:15am and had a great time with my mom. Got some great deals too. Guess it is just how you look at it.
