We live in a fast food society that can't always keep up with the demands of "I want it now!!!"
People "need" their food. Fast. Now.
People "need" their life mate. Now.
People "need" their career to happen. Now.
People "need" to make their kids. Now.
People "need" instant gratification in all areas of their lives. Now!!!
Nobody wants to take their time with anything. Ever.

I agree with lexi except I would add that there is no NEED for all the pressure-just because evryone else is doing it doesn't mean anyone HAS to.
I don't covet new stuff and all the latest gadgets, don't buy the paradigm that you can never have enough $ or that you are a loser if you don't constantly upgrade everything and I don't feel all the stress and pressure.
Enjoy the things you have, patiently work for the things you still need and break free of the herd, that's my philosophy.

It's not. People 60 years ago had to worry about fascists actually taking over the world and slaughtering people by the millions. Before that they had most of their kids dying from disease. People had to worry about famines, plagues, bad water, pollution and a hundred actual life and death concerns. Now people have too much time so they worry about minor things instead of just enjoying life and being grateful.

every thing is moving at a faster pace. faster cars, computers, food, etc. And this need for EVERYTHING to be fast is causing people to be stressed out more. People are becoming more and more impatient

Fewer people are trusting in the Lord. Everyone wants to control their life, but they can't.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5,6
Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the PEACE OF GOD which passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6,7
