Where do yopu live? Indoors or out. Both need temperate to tropical outdoors. Plenty of moisture but not soggy soil. Both are sold as house plants and should be where they can get plenty of light indoors. Otherwise both are easy to grow. I know a lady here in Oklahoma who grows both as well as lemon and lime in a large enclosed patio. She puts them outside in the Spring. Do not over fertilize either. Especially Nitrogen. Believe it or not Miracle Grow rose food is good for fruits. You probably have the dwarf banana that is sold in seed catalogs. I have eaten these, I thought they were better than the standard Cavendish that you get at the store. I was born in Hawaii and have a special taste for guava, I hope you like them.

I'm not a gardener but this is the best I could find!

"Banana trees can flower at any time of the year: the fruits usually develop in a horizontal fashion, which then becomes vertical when the weight of the bananas is sufficient. From the moment the inflorescence is visibile from the leaf sheaths, about three months are necessary for it to mature

Banana trees are best cultivated in a highly organic soil, with a neutral to slightly acid PH (5.5-7.0). A lot of water is usually needed for the plant to grow and yield bananas. The size of the plant in the first 3-4 months greatly affects the weight of the bunch and number of "hands" (the group of bananas).

Young plants are best nourished with a fertilizer solution of 6-2-12, with 3% magnesium. The solution is to be applied approximately every 2 months, and the fruiting will be complete after about 10-18 months later

Since this herb is sterile, the only way of propagating it is by the removal of suckers from the original plant "

Banana trees have a hard black seed. You will need a good size propagator that will house a 10 inch pot filled with best compost. Soak a seed in a saucepan of very hot water for an hour, this will help it to germinate it..then plant it 1 inch in the compost and place in the propagator...and hope for the best.
