The philosophical question "What is the meaning of life?" means different things to different people. The vagueness of the query is inherent in the word "meaning", which opens the question to many interpretations, such as: "What is the origin of life?", "What is the nature of life (and of the universe in which we live)?", "What is the significance of life?", "What is valuable in life?", and "What is the purpose of, or in, (one's) life?". These questions have resulted in a wide range of competing answers and arguments, from scientific theories, to philosophical, theological, and spiritual explanations.

These questions are separate from the scientific issue of the boundary between things with life and inanimate objects.
Popular beliefs
"What is the meaning of life?" is a question many people ask themselves at some point during their lives, most in the context "What is the purpose of life?" Here are some of the many potential answers to this perplexing question. The responses are shown to overlap in many ways but may be grouped into the following categories:

Survival and temporal success
...to live every day like it is your last and to do your best at everything that comes before you
...to be always satisfied
...to live, go to school, work, and die

...to destroy others who harm you, or to practice nonviolence and nonresistance
...to gain and exercise power
...to leave a legacy, such as a work of art or a book
...to eat

...to spend life in the pursuit of happiness, maybe not to obtain it, but to pursue it relentlessly.

...to seek freedom, either physically, mentally or financially
...to observe the ultimate fate of humanity to the furthest possible extent
...to seek happiness and flourish, experience pleasure or celebrate
...to survive, including the pursuit of immortality through scientific means
...to attempt to have many sexual conquests (as in Arthur Schopenhauer's will to procreate)
...to find and take over all free space in this "game" called life
...to seek and find beauty
...to kill or be killed
...No point. Since having a point is a condition of living human consciousness. Animals do not need a point to live or exist. It is more of an affliction of consciousness that there are such things as points, a negative side to evolutionary development for lack of better words.

...to master and know everything
...to be without questions, or to keep asking questions
...to expand one's perception of the world

...to achieve a supernatural connection within the natural context
...to achieve enlightenment and inner peace
...to become like God, or divine
...to glorify God

...to participate in the chain of events which has led from the creation of the universe until its possible end (either freely chosen or determined, this is a subject widely debated amongst philosophers)
...to know the meaning of life
...to achieve self-actualisation

What is the Meaning Of Life?

Obviously the definition varies depending on who is answering it and the priorities they have. So since I am the author of my life, this is MY definition..

The meaning of life is...(pause for dramatic effect)

Giving the best of yourself to those who matter the most to you.Taking the time to absorb all the little things that would normally be taken for granted. Nurturing the relationships with friends and family that without them you would surely be the loneliest person alive. Being the one that can be relied on. Honest and loving and above all , respected. I have learned that life isnt always fair, nor does it care about your feelings being hurt. You must make the best out of a bad situatuion and LOVE will in fact, conquer all. Defeat is not an option and quitting is only used when refering to bad habits that could kill you. Peace comes from within and is not found in a zip-loc baggie that you bought for 30 bucks. The only thing between you and your goals is YOU. No one can live your life for you nor would they if they could. You can either choose to participate in life or be a silent spectator. Anything worth having is worth the work .Anyone worth loving should be loved unconditionally. Any dreams worth dreaming should be the biggest. And that death is not forever. Live like you mean it. Sleep when you need it. Cry when necessary and smile like its going out of style.Living in the past only hinders the future. The meaning of life is exactly how YOU define it.

WHATS YOUR DEFINITION?

That is the meaning of life?" is a question many people ask themselves at some point during their lives, most in the context "What is the purpose of life?" Here are some of the life goals people choose, and some of their beliefs on what the purpose of life is:to survive that is, to live as long as possible, including pursuit of indefinite lifespan (the closest thing to immortality that is theoretically possible) through scientific means to evolve, to replicate, "the dream of a bacterium is to become two bacteria," since DNA replication has a mutation rate, this results in evolution.

To seek happiness, to end suffering, to create equality, to challenge oppression, to distribute wealth, be generous, to contribute to a community, to help others, be creative and have fun. And to be a true authentic human being and accept and forgive human flaws

The meaning of life is the same as the meaning of a beautiful sunset or a vicious blizzard. It is what it is. Make of it what you will.

Life has no meaning it just is.
This does not mean that life can have no purpose. The purpose of your life is whatever you want it to be.

to remember we are spiritual beings having a human experience. to manifest unconditional love to ourselves, each other and with the knowledge that we are all connected to each other and everything we do, think, feel and say affect everything and everyone around us. Mastering unconditional love allows us to evolve and ultimately will create the heaven on earth we are meant to have.
