My friends and i have this great debate going on. Some say its not cheating others say it is. Thoughts?

Technically it's not actually cheating, but it's about as close to cheating as you can get without actually going through with anything. It's also almost as close as you can get to visiting a prostitute without actually doing so. You know how there are different types of affairs: physical and emotional? Visiting a strip club is like mentally cheating, not physically.
Personally, I think it's disrespectful to a person's partner if they go out to stare at and admire other people's bodies in such a way. It's one thing to think someone is cute or good-looking, but to intentionally watch them take their clothes off just for entertainment is crossing a very definite line. Not to mention the fact that strip clubs exploit people and encourage people to treat each other like objects.

I think it would be fair to call it poor judgement, and possibly disrespectful if you have made your wishes clear, but calling it cheating is really stretching the intent of the stripper and subject. I am also of the belief that this kind of expansion of the definition of cheating, serves to minimize the actual crime. Going to a strip club with some firends is not the same as participating in an affair. You may not like it, and have every right to be upset and ask that the behaviour cease, but don't make it something its not to justify your anger.

In general I would say it is not cheating although if you're married I would think you wouldn't have an interest in doing that. However, not sure where you are from, but in Houston where I am some of the strip clubs are much more than just looking.....trust me, I know. Be careful.

I don't consired it cheating how can you on less he actually has sex with one of the strippers.My husband occionally goes to strip Clubs up in WV with his married buddies. I don't care because I have seen most of the girls that strip at these clubs and they are not worth worrying over. You can check them out on the internet to see what the clubs look like inside and outside and what the girls look like. Besides, my husband is always ready to go a round or two once he has been to one. So I get something out it too.
If you look up West Virginia Strip Clubs they will give a whole list of the clubs.

Going to strip club is not cheating ( to me) but it depends on what you do in there? I think lap dance to me is getting close to cheating sexually.
BTW- Some men get emotionally involved with strippers and that could be considered cheating.

If i tell my husband not to go to strip clubs and he goes behind my back then it's cheating, true it may not be physically cheating but mentally he is and when he comes home to me and wants to have sex you better believe it's not me he is thinking of when he is in me. That might not bother you but it sure in the hell bothers me.

Strip clubs are no different than watching adult films on Showtime. I drive my husband to the strip club. I know there is nothing he can do but watch, and if he gets a lap dance then good for him. Nothing wrong with it, and I don't think it's cheating at all. Cheating to me would be him engaging in sexual intercourse.

My husband and i have been to strip clubs when we have gone to Philly......if he went there without me, I would not like it very much.....kinda like cheating to me. Completely naked women, grinding on men, lap dances in private rooms...i don't think this is very good.

well it is totally disrespectful to say the least , and if my man did it i would be totally pissed and probably break up with him. if you are in a serious relationship it is very close to cheating there is no need to be paying a half or naked women to rub all over you if you aren't single
