I'm not sure how "hot" it would get (maybe warmer) but you may have water pipes running under the floor in your apartment building. I wouldn't worry too much about it if it's warm but if it is hot to the touch, notify the management. Good Luck, ;-)

What kind of sunlight do you get in the room? Ceramic tile is made of clay and holds the heat. If sunlight hits the tile, it will warm and stay warm for a while afterwards. Warm tiles will vary depending on the time of day and when the sunlight was hitting the floor. You may not notice how warm it is when you're walking, but if you stay in one spot, you will feel that certain tiles will be warmer than others. Nothing to worry about at all. Enjoy the warm and cozy feeling!

You didn't mention what is under the floor. If its another apartment it could be an electric wire that is heating up(or your basement wiring) The only other thing is hot water pipes. It is something you should report to your landlord. It could be a simple explanation or it coud be a big problem.(too much current in a wire could cause a fire)

The heat is more than likely coming from your hot water pipes which run under the floor and in the slab concrete. If you have been running the hot water and notice it then....that is what it is. If you notice it at other times when no one is using water....you may have a slab leak ( always hot water pipes in slab ). You can check your water meter outside. See if the little dial is turning and no one is using water. If this is happening....you will also have a BIG water bill.

Maybe your honey shrunk the kids, and they've lit a fire underneath the tiles to grab your attention.

=D
