I knew this would bring out the 60s "tragics". Good pickup on the method of demise. I guess it's not unusual.

He saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind. She deceived him!! And he?....Well he was lost like a slave that no man could free. He killed her with a knife.....not a gun!!!

It's been a while since I read the Bible; but I could have sworn that the guy was called Samson. Who the heck is Tom?

Edit- Bingo! It's been a while, although I liked the song way back then. Her name was probably Edna or Agnes or something, but he called her Delilah because he had read the Bible like me and saw the similarity.
I guess that like "Ruby," she had a thing for "taking her love to town" and he "just couldn't take it any more."
Just another "Someone done somebody wrong, song."

Are you by any chance referring to an old Tom Jones song? In it, she's his woman, but he sees "the flickering shadows of love on the blind' as he walks past her window at night. Once the other man leaves, he knocks on the door, and when he sees Delilah laughing, "I felt the knife in my hand, and she laughed no more." So he stabbed, not shot, her. But I think this is what you're asking about. She betrayed him and then laughed about it.
