It depends on the team. If you go to your team of choice's web site, you can usually sign up for their mailing list - they'll send you a reminder when they go on sale.

It is team specific, just check the team(s) you are interested ins website. Most teams put some select tickets on sales for the holiday, but generally all tickets go on sale after the new year
