Lately there have been an increased amount of bandwagoners, spammers, and illeterate little girls.

I love baseball and I came to this section to talk about it! Shouldn't we be posting polite questions about baseball players or off season trades? Why are there questions bashing other baseball teams or players? If we're that bored, its time to break out the board games!

I hate to see this section unraveling so fast. If it were up to you, what you would do to improve this baseball section?

Greta -- EEEEVERYONE here needs both to lighten up and to use a little sense. 1.) Don't even respond to doi and dork and Chrismaker and whoever else you don't like. End of problem.
2.) I know that the unfunny jokers around here are bad (someone bet Joe Kennedy o'd'ed -- not funny) but the occasional gag or spontaneous funny answer -- c'mon. It's supposed to be fun, too. 3.) Polite should also include sportsmanship. Too much bashing passed off as being a fan. No one much talks about how immature this section has ALWAYS been. 4.) This isn't technically a chat room. We all form a society here, sure, but not as chatters. It's easy enough to engage with those you like and totally ignore the ones you don't.

My own peeve -- I'm here for baseball. I don't correct English, I don't care about gossip, I'm not interested in personalities. Baseball. That's all I'm interested in and there IS an English section and a celebrities section and a friends section. For that stuff, go there.

The nature of this board means that it's not going to be a very entertaining place during much of the offseason.

The huge majority of the threads here are current-events related, and there's a real dearth of historical arguments or insightful questions about the upcoming season. Some good ones will get posted, like the question about Ted Williams' top 20 hitters or possible Dodgers trade/non-trade players for Miguel Cabrera, but too often the focus will be on repetitive questions mostly regarding the Yanks/Sox, about half of which will really be rallying cries more than questions.

I don't think anything needs to be done to improve it. Those who usually ask questions beyond the simplistic will continue to do so, and that help make up for the many, many questions that drag the section down. I don't think there's any particular person dragging down the section, and we likely just need to lower our expectations of what we'll find here until the free agent or trade markets really heat up.

I do agree about the many questions bashing teams or players, but they're part and parcel of this site. Doesn't mean we have to like them, but it's better to just ignore it than to let it get you stressed. As for the illiteracy exhibited on this board, I've learned to look past it. Otherwise, it could drive you crazy.

It's not that serious. It's just the off-season man. Now if you got this in season that would be valid. But when away they come out and play. It's like a bully with a strong following but when nobody is with them they are nowhere to be found. Backup is just not around, in this case the baseball fans, so the bullies just run rampant terrorizing. They won't get as much heat right now just because there is nobody around to put them in their place.

My blocked list is growing everyday! I have no time for these 10 yr old idiots! I really don't know how to fix the problem here.Everyone who gets kicked out, just comes back with a different account.I have reported so many people in the last few weeks! they still come back! I really think the best way to fix this is this! when Diva comes in here and posts questions,NO ONE Should answer, that's how they will go away.Just don't answer. If everyone sticks together on this it might work! I think these questions are asked for SHOCK VALUE! And ATTENTION! If no one answers, they may go away!

It is for the off-season. But, hey people express there opinions. Yes, there are a lot of bandwagoners who think they know everything. Once the season starts, it'll be back to the good ol' days.

What I try to do is not even answer those question. I also use the blocked list quite liberally (I have almost 200 people blocked).

The only thing you can do, really, is to focus on all the good people in here...and believe me there are quite a few of them in here.

Those people that ask insane obnoxious questions are just screaming for attention, and I will NOT give it to them.

Just keep on focusing on the good people, answer their questions, and keep on asking baseball questions.

Oh yeah, it doesnt hurt to report those questions and answers that are worthy of reporting.

Eliminate about half a dozen morons that consistently post and just as consistently say nothing useful. You probably know who I mean--esp. that one guy whose screen name is the title of a certain nursery rhyme. He's pathetic. I'd consider it a badge of honor to be blocked by a moron like him.
Also, the section is way better during the season. . . .
