right, me & a couple of mates are starting a band, we can all play our instruments haha, wer'e sort of a rock/emo/metal kinda band :/ we've written a few songs but we just can't decide on a band name. my idea was "the silent heartbreak" i don't know if that sounds any good, what do you think? or any ideas would be appriciated, thanx

It's kind of cool...but it sounds a lot like a lot of band names. Maybe try something more random or personal, like part of an inside joke, or just go through a dictionary...thats actually how the Grateful Dead got their name. Modest Mouse got their name from a phrase in a Virginia Woolf book, and there are lots of other cool ways bands have gotten their names.

I like the sound of yours... but you'll obviously not be silent, right?
Just to add, ofcoarse you can't just be "Heartbreakers", or anything to similar... because of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Silent Heartbreak might work. How about just Heartbreak? Or The Heartbreaks, or The Heatbreakers?

anything can be silent though like silent murder or silent kiss
my old band had an awesome name you can use it if you want we changed we were fusion of a single mind. but you should probably listen to some of your music and a name will flow.

too close to a national act with major exposure...unless you were a tribute band.....if you use the name, any name...research similars....I did with 3 bands I have been in...I now own the copyright to 2 of em- right down to the artwork!
