Hey Lizzie. Do you get to keep the skins from the Brown Snakes so you can make belts out of them in retribution for the inconvenience? If so, tell me how much it will cost to get a great Aussie Bush Hat with a nice snakeskin band (guaranteed to be from your yard) as a signed and wearable work of art.

Now, for something completely different. My question is whether this is an acute depressive episode, or are we talking about something chronic where you cycle over time?

From the way you expressed the question, my impression is that this is accute and (having a little backstory on you) situational. Most of the advice regarding situational depression (which is transitory, but no less for that) involves a cognitive approach in some fashion. Unless there is a diagnosis of clinical depression, I am hesitiant to go the drug route even where an MD may want to.

It's a fine call. You would have to look back over your own history and see how you have reacted in the past. If you have gone through periods of depression before and historically have come through them with a more robust and flexible psyche, then the best approach is to do what you already know how to do.

However, and this is a big one, a major medical condition and its treatment can have significant physical effects which directly effect psychological functioning. This has to be discussed with the MD and it may be necessary to request he check the literature. There can be effects which, while not common, have been noticed at a clinically significant level.

Just my 2 P. If I can be of any help, you can reach me through FSH.

Be sure and get back to me on the hat :)

Vance

I have been mighty low and thought that I would never ever get any where I felt like I was trapped in a box.
Than I decided to take stock of all the positive things I had. And all the people who cared about me and go forward with that. And as a close friend once toled me (an atheist?)"where there is life there is hope".
I'm sure there are many folks in your corner pulling for you.
I pray you don't feel alone.

First know you WILL survive. Whether you survive as an emotional cripple or take steps to change and or remove from your life what has put you down is up to you.

It will take time but you CAN do this mainly by changing thought patterns that bring you back to the problem .Involve yourself in absorbing pursuits that require focus and strict attention .You may find a new you and develope talents you never knew you had.

But you will survive either whole or broken .
