my due date is Jan 19th, my husband just got told he's being transferred Jan 20th, out of state. i have my doctors appointment on the 28th of this month(which is when i'll be asking this question), i'll be 32 weeks and 4 days then. under these circumstances do you think the doctor would induce as soon as its okay for the baby? probably no earlier than 38 weeks. that would give us 2 weeks before we have to move. if i leave here before the baby is born my insurance wont be any good anymore cause i wouldnt have a job anymore. and hes been seeing me since i was 8 weeks so im sure he wants his money .. lol. so far everything has been going perfect, no complications, just PUPPP (which is HORRIBLE!). any opinions?

yes I have heard of people being induced or having c-sections due to non-medical reasons like yours. However they will take the babies health into consideration first and foremost and if they do not think that it is wise they won't do it.
Explain the circumstances to your doctor especially the insurance money bit, lol, and I'm sure you should be able to come to some arrangement as to the arrival of your bubs!

If he won't do it, can you stay with someone (friends, family etcc) where you live now until the bubs arrives. It should only be for a couple of weeks and if the interstate move isn't too far hubby should still be able to come in when it does happen.

Best of luck

First off, congratulations. I am due Jan. 20th with my second child!!

With my first, I was induced at 38 weeks because my baby "was ready". (Thats what my doctor told me). But he also had no more room to grow. I wouldn't consider that a medical reason to induce though.

You can talk to your doctor and tell him your situation and ask him if everything is fine (baby is a healthy weight) at 38 weeks, if he can induce you. The worse he will tell you is "no". Is your husband being transferred because of a job, or the military? If it's for a job, he can always ask if he can rechedule his transfer date due to your pregnancy. Wouldn't hurt to ask. If it's for the military, I don't think there's anything he can do about that.

i wish you luck and I hope everything turns out the way you want.

Hi! Well, first off congrats! I am due Jan. 16th and I will be induced the 6th of Jan. for medical reasons and non-medical reasons.
I was actually able to talk my doctor in to inducing me because of my non-medical reason.
Every doctor is different, Hopefully yours will listen. It sounds like you do have a really good reason for an induction.
I however doubt I will need to be induced anyways, I am 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated at 32 weeks. Hopefully I can hold out at least 4 weeks though!
Good luck!

Actually, as aggervating because the drawback could also be... I strongly advocate you to not get prompted! It's no longer like usual exertions, it hurts unhealthy, and you'll wish the epidural and 50% of the time, inductions don't paintings and become in c-segment. But, so long as you're inclined to take delivery of the ones dangers then speak in your general practitioner approximately it, the worst she will say is not any. If you may have cash for a condominium vehicle, perhaps you'll hire one for your self?

You can always ask for an induction, but some doctors do not consider reasons of personal convenience to be a good enough reason to induce. Every doctor is different, and the only way you're going to know if he will do it is to ask.

The problem I forsee is that if you don't go into labor even after being induced and them breaking your water is you'll have a c-section. If you think about that it's even more time to recoop from that. I would talk to the doctor about it, and see what he would recommend. Good Luck!

Well I was induced because I was so sick I couldn't eat or sleep. I was suffering really bad. I just couldn't take it anymore, so they induced me 4 days after my due date.
