And...is it mainly used for a boy or for a girl?

My husband and I are just toying with names at this point in my pregnancy (very early stages!).

My other choices so far have been Liam (boy) and Kaleigh/Kaylie (girl). It changes week to week!

Keegan was brought up at our Thanksgiving meal yesterday and it has kind of stuck!

Keegan is a fairly unusual name, but it is at an all time popularity peak. Currently the name is ranked 240 in popularity amongst boys names in the US. Most sites have it listed as ranking 267th in popularity among males of all ages in the US, according to 2000-2003 Social Security administration statistics.

Personaly, I do like the name Liam a lot better though... It's a really great name. I also love your girls choice, especially spelled as Kaylee or Kaylie. The Kayleigh spelling seems really clunky to me, but I guess the name 'leigh' instead of 'lee' has never really appealed to me. Kaylie also seems a more popular spelling than Kayleigh... And my favourite spelling, Kaylee, is currently the most common for young children (which is good, as it will usually be the assumed spelling).

I love Keegan! It's a great name. It was 225 last year, and it's been on the top 1000 list since 1979, never above 225. It's steadily rising, but I think it's high enough to be familiar but not common for him to be Keegan J. in school.

I like Liam, but I super dislike Kaleigh/Kaylie. It's not a name that will age well at all. How about Kalina? It's Bulgarian for "rowan", and you could call her Kaleigh for a nickname.

I've never met anyone with the name Keegan. I think it is better suited for a male though. I know a girl named Tegan though!

I really like the name Liam for a boy and I probably prefer it to Keegan to. I also prefer the spelling Kaylie to Kaleigh, it's just an easier and typical spelling fashion. It will save a lot of misinterpretations to.

I think Keegan sounds better for a boy's name then a girl were I live I don't hear that name too often it's not a common name around here I think Keegan is a cute name for the boy,for the girl I like Kaylie that's very pretty I also like Kiley I told my husband if we ever have twin girls we should name them Kiley and Kaylie but he said no I think it's because they both start with "K".Best of luck to you, hope the rest of your pregnancy goes good for you and I'll pray for you that you have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.God bless!

I love the name Keegan. I think it could be both a girl and guys name, I would perfer it is as a girl, something originaly. If you go with the Kaylie/Kaleigh thing, I would do Kaleigh, something original. I personally like Keegan over Kaylie/Kaleigh and Liam though.
