I have an area rug with a few folds/bumps. What's the best way to flatten it out?

turn it upside down and place some table legs under it or the legs from some heavy furniture for half the day and then turn it over, right side up.

I get the bumps and imperfections with a steamer...not like a carpet steamer, but one that you use to get the wrinkles out of a shirt [$20 at Walmart...replaces an iron too]

Takes bumps right out!
