I'm going to do that, this time. Everyone else can throw their vote away voting for a slightly flavored version of the status quo.
If there is no real difference between the frontrunners, what are you risking by voting for someone who might actually make a difference?
Or who, by getting a large following, could at least make other candidates nervous by clearly NOT being a 'business as usual' vote?

it does make sense. if you are deliberating between 3 candidates in your head, then you wouldn't want to waste the vote on someone who has no chance. Absolutely vote for the best person (or in the US's case lesser evil), but some people are equally torn between candidates so to rule one out, most definitely dont throw your vote away on someone who has a snowball's chance in hell of going all the way.

Yeah, i've noticed the same idiocy. We have a year to go, and people still haven't accepted that fact that what the networks say is irrelevant....They're trying to alter the vote before it even takes place by saying someone has 45% of the vote, or someone doesn't have enough money and that disqualifies them....it's those visionless people, who have trouble with choices, they think they're being tactfull but they're really just perpetuating politics as usual. I can't wait for the babyboomer's Alzheimers to kick in. The younger generation sees right through mainstream media, as pitiful as it is they get most of their news from the Daily show and the Colbert report.

Precisely, I supported Ron Paul when he was at 1% I still support him now. If he doesnt get the nomination I will vote 3rd Party to voice displeasure with the current disposition of both parties and the many similarities that they share.

I know. I'm voting for Ron Paul in the primaries (I change parties). He doesn't have a chance at getting the nomination but I'm still voting for him. Those people remind me of Pontius Pilate, so afraid to take a stand for what is good.

I told my girlfriend not to vote for Nader. Now she understands why I vote for the lesser of two evils.

Electability is a big factor. Voting for someone because they are right won't matter if they'll never be elected.
