When I was going through radar school in the AF we were told a story (I don't know how true) about a team of technicians who spent too much time working on a FPS 3 (an early high powered radar set with the transmitter mounted on the antenna) Transmitter that was running. They supposedly died horrible deaths from being cooked by the microwaves being transmitted by it.
