If your name is one the account and you signed for it you are totally responsible. I doubt if the police can help you. The agreement is with you and Comcast, not Comcast and someone else.

Unfortunately everyone else is right in terms of the bills is your legal responsibility. However, with a bill that high, I suspect that there is an equipment charge there - so you might see whether or not the cable box itself was left so that it can be returned. That's generally about $500. The next thing to do is to talk to Comcast about a payment arrangment or possibly negotiating down the debt. Just a thought.

Welcome to the land of stupid people who are trusting of others who are willing to stand you up.
Unless you had a written agreement that is enforcable in court and the "someone else" is in a jurisdiction where you can sue him, you are pretty much up a river without a canoe. The police don't care - the person did not commit an overt crime, and in the SCHEME of THINGS, $814 is bird feed,

You made the agreement. You accepted the terms and conditions of the contract, right? Now you gotta suffer the consequences of those obligations.

Sorry, wish I had better news.

If you put YOUR name on the account it is YOUR problem.

You're going to have to pay it, not to be rude, but it is your fault for being gullible [be generous with my wordage here] enough to fall for THAT.

Sorry.
