Jobs- New Sources of Power?

Does any one know what the job title would be for someone who discovers and tests new sources of power such as solar and hydrogen? Also, could you suggest a website for this job? Thanks

Proffessor or engineer both come to mind. All of the big oil companies are doing alternative fuel research in a big way and so are the tech universities.
